BURSARY DEPARTMENT GETS STAFF BUS, DONATES TO UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

The Management of the Federal University of Technology Minna has donated a Toyota Haice 18 seater bus to the Bursary Department with a view to increasing efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery for the benefits of the system.

Commissioning the bus, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Senate Building, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano, the Vice- Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala FSSSN who appreciated the Department, also noted that the bus is for the use of the Bursary staff in acknowledgement of their commitment to work.

Prof. Bala also unveiled some items donated by the Bursary Department to the University community as part of activities marking it’s maiden Annual Lecture titled “Accountability and Transparency in Nigeria: the Role of Accountants.”

The items were customized wall clocks to be distributed to various offices, refuse bins to be stationed at the two bus packs in the Bosso and Gidan Kwano campuses as well as hymm books for the University Chapels and kettles for the Mosques at both campuses.

Commenting on the developments at the Sanate Chamber, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano, the Vice-Chancellor described the donations as a pleasant surprise, adding that, the Management is gratified by the fact that there is a purposeful leadership in the Bursary. A leadership that is able to mobilized and redirect the focus of the staff towards appreciating what the Management has been doing for them.

Earlier, the University Bursar, Mrs. Hadiza Goje, fcna, fcti who expressed appreciation to the Management for the privilege and the platform given to them to work, explained that the donation by the Bursary Department is a way of giving back to the system in appreciation for the numerous opportunities it has offered them.

Mrs. Goje also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the bus and promised that it would be efficiently put into use.
