TETFUND TEAM VISITS FUTMINNA

A team of experts from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has paid a courtesy visit to the Federal University of Technology Minna.

The brief meeting took place on Wednesday, 30th June 2021, at the Senate Chambers, Main Campus, Gidan kwano.

Speaking during the visit, the team leader, Prof Sunday Atawodi in his remark expressed his excitement to be in FUTminna. According to him, FUTminna is one of the institutions with the highest number of NRF grant in the north central.

He said the team came to monitor what their colleagues are doing, because when money is given by TETFUND, they do not want it to be seen as “National cake”, but money that is meant to make impact which they have to ensure that such impact is properly done.

Prof Atawosdi stated that, the team has come to monitor four projects, which are: Novel monitoring of the mediation techniques for pipeline under high pressure and high pressure conditions in the Niger delta, Sustainable implementation of share pre value chain in Nigeria, Effect of enzyme process feather, meat diet on broiler performance and Development of cloud based irrigation management system using the internet of things for enhanced food security.

He added that, the team will be going round to physically see what has been done, take note of their achievements and lapses if any, then report back to the management at a latter time before the report is taken to the sponsors.

Responding, the vice – chancellor of the University, Prof Abdullahi Bala fsssn, while welcoming the team to FUTminna appreciated the efforts of the scientists that put in efforts to attract these research grants.

He said, it is important the University have such visits because the Management has been crying for lack of funds for research. And now that TETFUND has provided some funds for research, everyone must be accountable and seen to judiciously utilize the funds.

The VC further appreciated the efforts of TETFUND and wished the team a very fruitful deliberations, adding, there is no doubt that the team will not be disappointed as the Management has the strong belief in the competence and abilities of those involved.
