The out- going Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna Prof. Abdullahi Bala FSSSN has commissioned a newly constructed road linking the School of Life Sciences and that of Physical Sciences,, constructed by Progressive Global Construction Company.
Commissioning the road at the Main Campus, Gidan Kwano, Minna, the Vice Chancellor pointed out that the project was a child of favour from Tetfund.
Explaining further he said it gave him great pleasure to stand at this time for the commissioning of the project. Noting that early this year when the University had convocation and project commissioning, he was worried about the state of the road. But fortunately, when the Executive Director of Tetfund sent the Director of Infrastructure to represent him at the commissioning, the Director was marvelled by the number of projects and quality of work done, as such, he had the opportunity of selling the idea to him as regards road construction to make the new area a better one. To that effect,, the Director advised him to write to Tetfund and in short time the project was approved through special favour.
The VC further added that 0.6 km part of the road is still remaining which he reapplied for more funds to complete and Tetfund had approved the remaining money for the completion of the project.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that in the next few weeks, the phase II of the road shall commence, when it is completed and linked up, the whole area shall be named “Tetfund Crescent”.
He used the opportunity to thank Mr. Moses Mark David for the good working relation. He also appreciated the PPDU for the oversight function carried out during the work.
Early , the site Engr. Mr. Mark David Moses, explained that the work started some few weeks back and had expanded the shoulder as part of their contribution to the institution. Adding that they were able to expand the road to serve the university for a very long time.
