The Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has kicked off its two-week “Summer with DOME” program for the children of FUT, Minna staff. The event, running from August 6 to 20, 2024, is held at the Advanced Engineering Innovation Complex (AEIC) on the Main Campus.
Dr. Taliha Abiodi Folorunso, Head of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, highlighted that this unique program is designed to provide children of FUT, Minna staff with essential skills in various technological fields. The aim is to foster intellectual and personal growth during the holidays.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI), including an introduction to AI concepts and their real-world applications. They will gain hands-on experience in programming and robotics, enhancing their problem-solving skills and logical thinking. The program also includes practical training in drone piloting through simulations.
The “Summer with DOME” program is free and has attracted over forty participants.
