Participants have successfully completed the two-week “Summer with Dome” programme organized by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA). The initiative, held from August 6th to 20th, 2024, aimed to equip the children of FUT, Minna staff with hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), enhancing their abilities in this rapidly advancing field.
The programme took place at the Advanced Engineering Innovation Complex (AEIC), University’s Main Campus.
During the closing ceremony on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta expressed his pleasure in witnessing the participants’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about computer technology.
Prof. Kuta highlighted that many global innovators began exploring technology at a similar age, urging participants to apply their newly gained knowledge creatively and continue building on the skills acquired during the programme. He emphasized the importance of embracing technology as a driving force of the future and a universal language that connects people globally.
He further encouraged the young participants to stay informed about technological trends and actively contribute to the digital world. Prof. Kuta expressed his confidence that the training had inspired the youths to delve deeper into technology and pursue their passions with renewed motivation.
