The Abuja Chapter of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) Alumni has made a generous donation to the University Clinic, consisting of ten beds, ten mattresses, ten pillows, and ten bedside lockers.
The donation, presented today, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, was witnessed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, Deputy Vice – Chancellor Academic, Engr. Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi , Acting Registrar, Mrs Azumi Ndayako, University Librarian, Prof Saka Katamba and other university officials.
During the ceremony, Prof. Kuta expressed his gratitude to the alumni, highlighting the important role alumni play in the development of any institution. He encouraged them to continue supporting the University and proudly representing it, particularly as FUTMINNA was recently ranked as the 8th best university in Nigeria. He further mentioned his aim to elevate FUTMINNA to the top spot in the country by addressing areas for improvement in the institution’s rankings.
Representing the Director , Advancement and Development Office (ADO), the Deputy Director, Engr. Dr. Elizabeth Eterigho, led the visiting team. She emphasized that the donation was part of the Abuja Chapter’s commitment to contributing to the growth of their alma mater.
Chairperson of the Abuja Chapter, Mrs. Hajarah O. Abdulkadir, noted that the donation came from proceeds of a magazine launched earlier this year and assured that such contributions would be an ongoing initiative.
The Niger Chapter of the alumni, represented by Dr. Bashir Ganiyu, also expressed appreciation for the Abuja Chapter’s kind gesture, praying for continued success and contributions from all alumni chapters.
In her vote of thanks, Director of University Health Services, Dr. Fatima Halilu assured that the donated items would be put to good use, further enhancing the clinic’s service to the university community. The event concluded with the official handover of the donated materials by Mrs. Abdulkadir to Prof. Kuta.
