In a bid to enhance educational standards in public primary schools, the Minna Emirate Young Academic Forum (MEYAF), Federal University of Technology, Minna, has donated essential learning materials to Lunko “B” UBE Primary School, located in Lunko Village, Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State.
The donation, made on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, included 200 copies of 40.leaf exercise books, two cartons of chalk, and two packs of red and blue biros.
Presenting the materials on behalf of the Association’s Executive Members, MEYAF Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Abdulhakeem of the Department of Industrial Mathematics, stated that the initiative is part of the forum’s corporate social responsibility and commitment to community development. He emphasized the association’s dedication to supporting education within the Minna Emirate, noting plans for future engagements with students to assess and uplift the academic standard of the school.
Dr. Yusuf also highlighted the poor learning conditions observed during their visit and called on government bodies and philanthropists to join efforts in supporting public schools, especially those in remote areas. He noted that MEYAF is composed of academic staff indigenes of Niger State whose mandates include teaching, research, and community service.
In response, the School Headmaster, Mallam Umar Alhaji Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the donation, assuring that the items would be used effectively. The Village Head, Alhaji Umaru Sanda Garba, also extended gratitude, urging philanthropists to assist in repairing a classroom block damaged by a recent storm.
