Mr. Ahmed Yahaya Alhassan (A.Y.A) joined the Federal University of Technology, Minna in 1983 as one of the pioneering students of the University ably led by the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Jonathan Osman Ndagi. After an intensive Pre-degree and Foundation 1 and 2 programmes, he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Mathematics/Computer Science. A course that saw him participate in the development of both private and public organizations from the early 1990s to date.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He is a Project Manager certified by PMI of the United States of America. He is also a certified Journalist by the University of Cardiff, Wales – UK. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administrators and a Comrade of the National Association of Nigerian Students. Presently, he is an Assistant Director and key Management Staff of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Mr. Ahmed is a member of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Minna serving as the Convocation Representative on Council.
A. Y. A as he is fondly called during his halcyon days as a student of FUTMinna, has participated in teaching, empowerment of youth, electrification of rural communities, project management, community awareness programme, financial consultancy, and Information and communication technology. He is among the few people that have been doing the combination of these things so continuously and who is ready to step up to provide qualitative leadership for FUTMinna Alumni Association and the nation at large.
His desire is to build a modern 21st century compliant, investment attractive, proactive Alumni Association that will be among the best in the world by providing leadership and support to its members as well as to attract development to his Alma Mater – the Federal University of Technology Minna.
