As part of activities commemorating the forth coming 38th Founders’ Day and 30th Convocation Ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn has kicked off the 3rd edition of the Chancellor’s Football and Taekwondo competition for secondary schools within Minna metropolis on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the University Sport Complex, Main Campus Gidan Kwano.

Prof. Bala who was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Vice-chancellor (Academic), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta disclosed that the essence of the competition is to catch them young as they are being exposed to the University environment it will motivate them to develop interest to further their education after secondary school and avenue to showcase their skills.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, University Sports Committee, Prof. Rasheed Ojitiku said that in this edition, 18 secondary schools would be participating in the competition.

He further disclosed that the competition would be played in two categories with the male students participating in the football competition while their female counterparts would participate in Taokwodo.
