Indorima fertilizer and chemical has given cash awards to three outstanding students from the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Federal University of Technology Minna.
The brief ceremony took place on Thursday, 27 January 2022, at the Caverton Lecture Theatre Main Campus, Gidan kwano.
In his opening remark, the Dean SAAT. , Prof Job Nmadu said the school has come a long way with Indorima , hence the need to support what SAAT is doing by investing in the students.
He said Indorama will be presenting awards to three outstanding students of FUT, Minna and that, the award ceremony is done openly in order to encourage other students.
The award which was presented by the Zonal Marketing Supervisor of Indorama fertilizer and chemical Ltd, Mr Sani Olusiji Philip, in his remark said Indorima came into Nigeria in the year 2012 when the government of Nigeria was privatizing some of its assets. And today, the Indorima petro chemical complex remains the only petro chemical plant in Nigeria.
He said that the essence of the award which is going to be an annual event is not for show but to encourage the student that hard work pays.
Mr Philip disclosed that the recipients will receive cash awards of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (150,000) to support their academic pursuit in a little way.
The criteria for the award was students with the highest CGPA at the end of 300level.
Recipients of the awards were Atoshi Lante, Nimat Ibrahim and Happiness Chukwusom from the Departments of: Agricultural Economics, Crop Production and Soil Science respeSTUDENT
