TETFUND EVALUATES FUTMINNA’s PREPAREDNESS FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER, PROMISES SUPPORT

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has conducted a comprehensive assessment at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) to review resources and facilities in preparation for the establishment of a Career Development Centre (CDC) at the institution. The evaluation, which took place on September 5, 2024, focused on assessing manpower, equipment, and infrastructure necessary for the centre’s successful launch.

During a courtesy visit at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room on the Main Campus, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Uno E. Uno, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, expressed appreciation to the TETFUND Official and Chairperson as well as other members of the University Committee on Career Development for their visit. He called for a prompt feedback process to facilitate TETFUND’s support for the CDC project.

TETFUND’s Assessor, Mrs. Olanrewaju Yetunde, explained that the visit was aimed at verifying the institution’s preparedness for the CDC and ensuring compliance with the requirements needed for TETFUND’s intervention. She commended FUTMINNA’s efforts but emphasized the need for further improvements, especially in infrastructure, to ensure the centre’s independence.

Engr. Prof. Caroline O. Alenoghena, Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre and Chairperson, University ‘s Committee on Career Development, presented a detailed proposal to the TETFUND official, outlining areas requiring intervention.
