The Alumni Fellowship of the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, as part of their 40th anniversary celebration and reunion has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice – Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta. The event took place on September 13, 2024, in the Senate Chamber of the institution’s Main Campus.
Led by the National President of the FCS Alumni Fellowship, Arc. Pastor Adekunle Samson Adeyemo, said that the alumni gathered to celebrate four decades of the fellowship and reunite with current students. Pastor Adeyemo emphasized that the anniversary has been a time for bonding, spiritual fellowship, and renewal, not only for alumni but also for the students currently part of the FCS.
He acknowledged the institution’s support, noting that the leadership over the years has created an enabling environment for students to thrive. Pastor Adeyemo also highlighted the role the fellowship and the institution have played in shaping the lives of alumni, with many now contributing to the institution by employing FUT, Minna graduates and offering career mentorship programs to students.
In his response, the Vice – Chancellor , Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta represented by the Deputy Vice – Chancellor, Administration Prof. Uno Essang Uno expressed his appreciation for the alumni who traveled from across the country to mark this special occasion. He attributed the University’s progress to divine grace and the prayers of the community. He also called for unity and peace among the University community, urging all to support the construction of a new church building. A combined service for all Christian members of the University is planned to be held at the construction site on Monday, 16 September 2024, further fostering unity among the students and staff.
The event underscored the continued partnership between the institution and its alumni, aiming to promote both academic and spiritual growth.
