The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has welcomed accreditation teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for an evaluation exercise of various academic programs. These include Project Management Technology, Logistics and Transport, Educational Technology, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Horticulture, Animal Production, Crop Production, and Soil Science and Land Management.
The meeting, held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Academic Publishing Centre, FUT Minna Main Campus, aimed to assess the quality and standards of these programs.
Speaking on behalf of the teams, Prof. Adebambo Somuyiwa commended the University’s warm reception and emphasized that such exercises are crucial for improving Nigeria’s educational system. He called for full cooperation from the respective schools and departments to ensure a smooth and successful process.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kuta, welcomed the teams and assured them of the University’s readiness and cooperation. He highlighted that accreditation reviews are critical in evaluating academic activities, identifying areas for improvement, and enhancing institutional quality.
