In response to the growing demand for quality accommodation in Minna, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, has officially commissioned the remodeled University Guest House situated along Shiroro Road. The commissioning ceremony took place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the guest house premises.
During his address, Prof. Kuta praised the efforts of the Director of FUTMIN Ventures, Prof. Saka Abdulkareem, and the remodeling committee for delivering a high standard facility. He highlighted the strategic advantages of the location, noting the consistent supply of electricity and water, making the guest house an ideal choice for visitors. “Despite the presence of numerous hotels in the area, the University Guest House stands out due to its quality and service. We are confident in our ability to compete effectively,” he stated.
Prof. Kuta emphasised that the University frequently hosts over 50 external examiners for postgraduate programs monthly, creating a steady demand for lodging. He added that channeling this demand into the University run guest house would not only provide convenience but also generate internal revenue.
Earlier, Prof. Abdulkareem explained that the facility previously had 10 rooms. Following recommendations from the remodeling committee, the boys’ quarters were converted into four additional self contained rooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 14. All rooms have been fully furnished to meet modern hospitality standards.
He extended his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their unwavering support. The renovation was carried out by FUTMIN Ventures using direct labor, reflecting the University’s commitment to quality and cost efficiency.
This upgraded facility is expected to enhance the University’s hospitality services and contribute meaningfully to its internal revenue generation.
