The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use, Climate Change and Human Habitat (WASCAL CC&HH) at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has officially welcomed the newly admitted Batch 6 students into its Postgraduate Programme in Climate Change and Human Habitat.
The students, drawn from various countries across the African region, were formally presented by the Centre’s Director, Prof. Appollonia A. Okhimamhe, during the 15th Meeting of the Academic Advisory Board held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Centre’s Board Room, Main Campus.
Welcoming the students, the Chairman of the Board and Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Abubakar N. Sa’idu, advised them to remain focused on their academic responsibilities and uphold the University’s rules and regulations. He emphasised the importance of discipline, commitment, and prioritizing academic activities over non-academic engagements.
Prof. Sa’idu highlighted WASCAL’s notable achievements, including the recent successful hosting of the Centre’s external examiners. He commended the Centre for enhancing the University’s global visibility by attracting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to ensuring their safety and well-being. He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the opportunities available within the University community to enrich their academic experience.
Expressing confidence in the new cohort, Prof. Sa’idu urged them to always seek guidance and clarifications whenever necessary to aid sound academic and personal decisions.
