The Standing Committee of School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT) has commended VIce Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Abdullahi Bala fsssn for standing out well in his stewardship of the University.
The commendation was made recently, when the committee led by the Dean SAAT, Prof. Job Nmadu paid him a courtesy visit at the Senate Chambers, Main Campus.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala fsssn,
thanked them for coming and for appreciating the projects carried out.
He pointed out that the School had been very supportive and had made tremendous efforts towards the development of the institution.
While observing that the Standing Committee is growing in size, he stated that the main thing in leadership is to bequeath the office to a successful fellow through mentoring.
Speaking earlier, the Dean of the School, Prof. Job Nda Nmadu highlighted that the visit of the Committee had three (3) main reasons; to congratulate the Vice Chancellor for performance in office, for keep an excellent record and for having him as SAAT ambassador.
Prof. Nmadu acknowledged the giant strides of the Vice Chancellor for taking the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology from Phase I to II and even up to Phase III. The Dean noted that the Phase III of the School was initiated, commenced and completed during the VC’s tenure.
He further stated that within the span of five (5) years, God had kept the VC sound in health and mind, as such, their visit was to felicitate with him for standing out and ending well.
Also speaking, the Former Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Suleiman Sadiku, proclaimed that they have come to celebrate one of their owns for a successful tenure and that the VC should not be too far from the vicinity after vacating office.
On his part, Prof. Bisi Anyanwale of the Department of Animal Production said one of the important things VC did for Animal Production Department was the intervention he gave to the Department that facilitated the completion of the animal husbandry project.
Prof Ayanwale who noted that the VC worked for only limited period due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and the incessant strike by university unions, prayed that Prof. Bala attains a greater height in life after his tenure.
