The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, has officially commissioned a Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) Center at the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Department’s facility on the main campus.
This state-of-the-art center, valued at 15 million naira and generously donated by an alumnus, is set to significantly enhance the Department’s capacity for practical training and research. The CORS technology will enable real-time GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) positioning, which is crucial for advanced applications in surveying, environmental mapping, and other geospatial studies.
